  • 1cup milk (scalded)
  • 1/4cup sugar
  • 1/4cup shortening
  • 1tsp salt
  • 3 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 pkgs yeast
  • 1/4 cup very warm water
  • 1 egg
  • filling
  • 2 large Tbl butter melted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup raisins (if desired)
  • 1/2cup nuts

InstructionsInstructions  Combine milk (scalded), sugar, shortening and salt. Add 1 1/2 cup flour and beat well. Dissolve yeast in warm water and add to above ingredients. Add egg then gradually add remaining flour to form soft dough. Place in greased bowl, turning once to grease top surface. Cover and let rise until double in size. Then roll out, brush melted butter over top and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, add nuts or raisins if desired. Roll and cut in to rolls. Let rise again. Bake at 400 for 12-15 minutes.
